BRING THE ENERGY
Below are our most frequently asked questions about our Lucozade brands, use the tabs below to filter per brand, or fill in the form to get in contact with us.
The sustainability of our packaging, and what happens to it when it’s empty, is hugely important to us. We design our packaging for circularity and the introduction of tethered caps is our latest step towards making our drinks more sustainable.
The caps on our bottles have always been recyclable, but these are often discarded and therefore not recycled. This new change means that the cap stays attached to the bottle after opening, reducing the potential for it to be littered. We are committed to making sustainable changes to our packaging to help achieve a circular economy for plastics.
Thank you for your feedback
Making a big change is complicated and takes time to implement on our manufacturing lines. We are therefore transitioning to tethered caps in different phases leading up to July and there may be some of the old bottles still on shelf while we roll out the new design.
Thank you for your feedback
All of our bottles and caps have been recyclable for many years. Once you have finished with your drink, we recommend you put the cap back on the bottle so both parts can be recycled. Unfortunately bottle caps are often discarded and littered, but by attaching them it means they are more likely to be recycled.

Yes. Rolling out in August 2023 is a bold new taste for Lucozade Energy Orange and Lucozade Energy Original.
The new recipes deliver a more “zingy” taste, with a bolder taste for the unique Original flavour and a more citrusy, orange note for Orange.
Thank you for your feedback
We’ve introduced the new look bottles across Lucozade Energy Original and Lucozade Energy Orange to coincide with the flavour enhancements. Watch this space for the rest of the range to follow in coming months.

We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our drinks or during our manufacturing process. We do not add alcohol to our drinks as an ingredient, but there may be very low levels as alcohol may sometimes be present in some of the flavourings that are used. Alcohol is defined as ethyl alcohol or ethanol. We are advised by International Trade Federations that products cannot be claimed to be alcohol-free as natural fruit flavours and fruit juices may contain naturally occurring alcohol.

Yes, our bottles are easily recycled. We would recommend leaving the cap on when recycling your bottles, however it’s always best to check your local council guidelines as some may ask for the cap to be removed.
Thank you for your feedback
You can expect to see a grey tint to the plastic bottles which use recycled material as we are re-using plastic bottles. ‘Grey is the new green’ and this tint is something to be proud of as it shows that your favourite brand is being more sustainable and committed to using recycled plastic.
Thank you for your feedback
Recycling the cap and label with the bottle gives all materials the best chance of being recycled. Most of the time you can leave the label on as the recycling process separates and collects them for downcycling. However not all local authority recycling centres are set up to recycle label material yet, so always best to check local guidelines about whether it needs to be removed.
You also might like to know that we have reduced the sleeve on our Lucozade Sport bottle so that the bottle is easily identified and sorted into the correct waste stream, helping to turn bottles back into bottles.
Thank you for your feedback
Plastic can be recycled time and time again and has a lower carbon footprint than both glass and aluminium.

Lucozade Sport Zero Sugar is a great tasting, low calorie, zero sugar fitness drink with added Vitamin B3 and electrolyte, designed for low intensity exercise and to be consumed as part of a varied and balanced diet and an active lifestyle.
Lucozade Fit Water contains electrolytes - Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium and Chloride to help you replenish what you lose in sweat during exercise.
Children's requirements of energy and nutrients are different from those of an adult and so Lucozade Sport, Lucozade Sport Zero Sugar and Lucozade Sport Fit Water are not really suitable for children under 16 years. This is not to say that Lucozade Sport would be harmful in any way, it is just not designed for use by children. Water is adequate for children during exercise or otherwise.

To achieve a great-tasting Lucozade Zero drink with fewer calories, we use a range of low-calorie sweeteners. All the sweeteners used in Lucozade Zero have been approved as safe to consume by the relevant authorities.
Thank you for your feedback
Lucozade Zero is a sparkling low-calorie drink, not an energy drink. It's a new addition to our range because we are committed to offering more choice to our consumers. Now in the range there is a choice of a low-calorie drink without sugar, or a drink containing sugar and sweeteners.
Thank you for your feedback
Like other food and drink manufacturers, we are governed by the Nutrition and Health Claims Regulation regarding what we can say about our drinks. Drinks classed as zero-calories can contain 4 calories or less per 100ml. Having a few calories is something that Zero drinks tend to have in common.
Lucozade Zero Original contains 1.7 calories per 100ml, Lucozade Zero Orange contains 3.8 calories per 100ml, and Lucozade Zero Pink Lemonade contains 2 calories per 100ml.
These calories are regarded as being so low that they are considered negligible in terms of the contribution they make to a person's daily energy intake.
