1,024 teams have become 8. The battle lines have been drawn, as Carrington prepares to play host to the 2010 LSPL Cup finals day.
LSPL Cup finals day - The Bourne Town Supremacy
Having beaten off 1016 teams from across the country in an epic virtual battle, 8 sides in blistering form arrived at Carrington, each desperate to secure the title of 2009/10 LSPL Cup Champions. After 14 games, 41 goals and some stunning football along the way, Bourne Town lined up against Beckton Athletic in what turned out to be a classic final. In the dying moments, with the game poised at 0-0 and penalties looming, a free-kick was awarded to Bourne Town. Dan Schiavi stepped up to curl the ball into the top corner in spectacular fashion, securing Bourne Town the victory, the LSPL Cup, 16 VIP tickets to a Barclays Premier League game and a full sponsorship package for the 2010/2011 season- not a bad time to pull out the strike of his life.
LSPL Cup Season 2009/2010
The LSPL Cup is now even bigger and better than before! 1,024 teams will compete against each other in a virtual knockout competition, using results from their own league matches to determine their fate. The further that teams progress in the competition, the more Lucozade Sport products and prizes are up for grabs.
The Finals
The final 8 teams have been drawn into 2 groups, in which all teams will play one another. The top 2 teams emerging from each group will go through to the semi finals, with the winners progressing to the final.
